They are playing 8strings? Nice song i like it , really want a good a album from this band, they got a lot of potential but the latest album was boring as fuck.

It sounds like 8 strings, and I think I read somewhere that they were using 8 strings. Really awesome song as well!

It is just me or does the mix sound like its pumping in a weird way?

It literally sounds, to me, like the instruments are fighting to be up front in the verses... very weird sounding... the mellow parts sound good, though... dig the vocal melodies...

Yeah. Flatter than a pancake. A thin pancake. Very thin. The "Salvations is only a word" could've been 10db's lower IMHO to get some punch back.

Sounds a mile better than the last one, so I hope this is squashed for "educational purposes only".

Michele, I don't think I've ever encountered anyone as obsessed with a producer as you are with Tue Madsen (except maybe Jeff with Devin )

Anyway I don't like all his works...some albums are not good at all, but I like the fat wall of sound he can create.

Doesn't an 8 string sound very different from a 7 string due to neck scale and all that mumbo jumbo?

As much as I like low tunings though, I think I would stick with a low tuned 7 string rather than going 8 string... seems to be pushing a wee bit too much into the bass guitar territory otherwise

It definitely sounds good, Tue can deliver good mixes, it's pretty dense sounding, although what has been previously said is true, there seems to be some frequency fighting and mainly the cymbals pumping... god that's just nasty

Tue Madsen always delivers great mixes, I'm sure the CD will sound great. Web compression never sounds good.

What I meant was that he knows how to get a really heavy sound, I like that sound but I have heard better. I actually prefer the guitar to be tuned up higher, like a standard 7 string or drop C 6 string, it has more punch then.
