I dig the production though, it might not be "perfect" from an AE's perspective, but it sure fits the song and is heavy as fuck

Only mix of Jacob I like is the latest Deadlock. Don't like his Volbeat work.
Cymbals should sound clean, unless it's grind, or the drummer uses shitty cymbals anyway..

A parrallel compressor on drums is awesome, to a certain extend. I feel they don't work much for the mixes I'm doing...

I've experimented a bit with it, but never get the result I'm after..

I used to think I fucking loved him till I realised the only mixed of his that I liked were the Gorefest albums, and at the end of the day, really only La Muerte. What do you think of that album?

Back on topic, While this song sounds way better than anything I remember from passenger, the mix still seems "over the top" to me. And whats with the whole mix sounding so different on the mellower parts? It seems like its a totally different mix when it gets to those parts, and that just seems odd to me.

I miss the sound they had on MSP and TAIS. It almost seemed like they had an ounce of (gasp!) 90's Nu Metal that actually seemed to work really well to me.

I just checked the loudness of the song......it's not that loud.
T-Racks3 meter says -9.2dB RMS and TT Dynamic Range meter -7dB RMS (They have different values but it happens the same with every song....different meters)

Tue Madsen always delivers great mixes, I'm sure the CD will sound great. Web compression never sounds good.
