AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH!!!!!!The Greys said:I'm loving this mithras bashing.
It is great when more than one person speaks up and participates in times like these.

Covenant IS my favorite by MA overall, but the drums are mixed sort of poorly. Fleming Rasmussen really didn't do such a good job at mixing that album - it's all lows and mids and mud, but the songs are good enough to stand above that. I think Pete's drumming had gotten a lot better since Covenant, though. His playing on Gateways and Heretic IS actually superior to all of the previous releases, in my opinion. Blessed, Covenant, and Formulas have the best riffs - its hard for me to pick a favorite, but if I had to, I guess it would be Formulas.Décadent said:Drumming, probably Covenant. Possibly Gateways. Carcassian said:I've said it once, but I will say it again, behold the power of Formulas Fatal to the Flesh.
Seriously.
Formulas > Altars
That's because David Vincent didn't want to learn any of the material past Domination - probably fucked with his ego or something. I wonder what they are going to do in the future if he stays, I sure would like to hear some Formulas material live again.Loner said:Formulas is my favortie MA album as well, I was dissapointed that they didn't play anything post Domination on the Masters of Chaos tour.

I agree. The Greys said:Trey wanted to produce the album and do all the guitar writing and recording. I think the album sounds great. I think the sound is more natural.
Djofullfinn said:Altars of madness is the best one..not far behind blessed are the sick. after that they been going downhill. they should have quit when vincent left.
but noooo they had to fucking replace him with some lamer. blaah, fuck the new Morbid angel albums. they are not worthy to be played.
Carcassian said:Listen to Formulas and Gateways again. Really. Then play Domination again.
You know that horrid shudder you're getting? That's when you realise that latter Dave Vincent (off topic: wasn't he the character from "The Invaders"?) era Morbid Angel was BOLLOCKS
Vincent didn't "leave" - he got kicked out because Trey and Pete felt that he was getting further and further away lyrically than what the band was supposed to be about. I think that Tucker was a good addition, he saved Morbid Angel at the time. Formulas broke them out of the polished-up metal route that Domination was starting to take. If Vincent were to stay in the band at the time of his departure, I really believe that Morbid Angel would be defunct right now simply because they would have lost their credibility due to his strife for "commercial success".Djofullfinn said:Altars of madness is the best one..not far behind blessed are the sick. after that they been going downhill. they should have quit when vincent left.
