New MPF track mixing

emg81 - mmm1 - od808 - 6505+(voodoo mod) - v30 loaded 5150 cab - 57+i5 Clayman technique

In the DAW == just a slight touch of Waves EQ.

*edit*

Vocals have Rvox on them.... not sure if it enough comp though? I may need to use Rcomp possibly? Or double compressors or something.... And I got a little reverb, and a vocal spread delay on them.

The tones you got here are very good.

I like the guitar and drum sound.

A couple of things maybe to look at.

The singing vox sounded compressed enough really.
I just think they were a little dark or stuffy sounding.
Perhaps they need a bit of brightening?

Sometimes It seemes like the singing vox were panned slightly to the left?
I found that distracting personally, unless im just trippin.

There is a slight lack of lower lows in this mix. (50hz-80hz)

If you like where the level of your bass guitar is currently, and dont want to alter it, perhaps try putting your C4 on the master bus and using the "Bass comp/High feq limit" preset. Squash the low lows a little and the turn them up so the mix is a bit rounder.

The vocals are way too low. It's a typical "guitar player mix" if you know what I mean ;)

Actually, the vox are good, but the guitars are way too high :heh:

you really think so huh? If you check the other mix, I had the guitars lower, but was asked to turn them up and make them more crunchy in the mix.

I'm actually tweaking the mix again before we send off for dupes. I'm compressing the bass a shade more and turn it up a little. And adding a little more lowend to everything.....as suggested above.

I'm trying to listen right now but my PC is being real real slow:erk:

Anyway when i finally listen i will get back to ya but on you Four foot wood myspace page you should make so people can add them songs:rock: I think there fucking hilarious and i wanna add it to my myspace page!!!

I listen to it now, and I still think something's wrong... Maybe the equalization on the guitars collides with the vocals. The vocals seems good, but the guitars overpowers it...

Besides everybody here is guitar freaks, of course they said "louder guitars" :heh:
