Hi mate! Thanks for the compliment! I have a friend that is going to do vocals as well but i'll happily send you the files! I have exported all the tracks from logic as audio files and am uploading then to dropbox! ill send you the link when its done! its like 2.5gbs though, its taking 4 hours it says haha!

you'll send me stems not raws? Anyway thanks, please pm me lyrics and the time that the song starts etc :)

The guitars are out of sync with the drums and they need fewer mids and more presence. Not sure what drum program you're using, but you need to modify the velocities so it doesn't sound like the Terminator programmed your drums. Redo the snare as well, with a lot less reverb.

I'm using addictive drums with the metal adpak. I humanised the midi notes and varied the velocities but I guess I need to do it some! Terminator would be an awesome drummer though!ha! The snare really bugs me on all my mixes, I can never get its to really stand out, not really sure what to do eq wise with it and what to cut from other tracks to make it fit! I think I turned the reverb buss off for the snare.

If it's addictive drums it shouldn't take much work. Take a look especially at the cymbals, since those are the ones that stand out most when you're using samples. The snare stands out fine, but I would recommend starting from scratch with it- no verb, no EQ, nothing. Get the snare to have a nice bottom-end thump and a tight top, then start adding the reverb in. There's a pretty universal range between 200-400hz and 600-800hz where almost all instruments sound like cardboard, and if you cut down on those your mix will sound better.

The problem you have right now with it is that the reverb is so huge that the notes are running into each other and it plainly sounds like it was programmed. If you want that giant Sturgis-esque reverb sound, automate it during the breakdown or when you know there isn't going to be another snare hit right in front of it and get rid of it during the rest of the song.

Wicked! Thanks for your help, I'll check out the reverb and have a go at automating it if needed and I'll sort out the crazy velocities! Ill give those eq regions a listen to and try and make it sound less like a cardboard box!!

Thanks again for your help!
