New Pain of Salvation- full tune

I'm really loving the Slavior song on that page too. It's totally not what I expected to hear, but after hearing it, I definitely will pick the disc up.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who DOES like it. Response at this board has been more positive than at the Dream Theater forums, where the thread is at 5 pages and 4 out of 5 posters hate it.

I listened to America last night and laughed, hard. Is it just me, or does this song sound really poppy and almost comedic? Either way, it was pure garbage indeed. Though, perhaps DG did that on purpose.

Already left my first impressions in the other POS thread, but I'm definitely in the positive camp, this song has an energy that was almost completely absent on Be and I've found myself singing it quite often today...as far as the new SX goes, not believing anything until the band confirms it.

Ya know...?

I was having a conversation with a buddy today about hearing some of the "pre-advance streaming" of albums that have been floating around lately...

Maybe it's the collector in me, but I just don't give a shit. I know I'm going to buy the new PoS, the same way I bought the new Maiden, Angra, Wuthering Heights, etc., ad infinitum without hearing.

For those bands that you truly believe in, do you really need to rely on poor quality, out-of-context streams that just DO NOT truly represent the album?

Just curious...

Rock on!

Yes. Had I done what you do I would have bought the new angra and been stuck with a 15.00 beer coaster.

First of all, whoever judges what the new PoS album will sound like based on this song, must have some serious problems. I think a lot of people know that if there's ONE band in the world that can't be judged by one song, this band is Pain of Salvation.

I can't say I love this song, but it's growing on me. However, I'm sure I'll have other favorite songs when the album comes out. As Glenn himself said, some of those samples sounded fucking awesome!

Regarding America being a joke song... I can see that. I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to do that based on what his political views on America and America's way of handling its position in the world are. Ironically enough, I am pretty sure he sees (and LOTS of other people do too) some of America's policies or whatever aspect as some sort of joke, kinda like how the song sounds. I could see some sort of connection there.

Leaving all of the political BS out, I really do hope the new album sound amazing and that they can grace ProgPower's stage once again. Many of you will think it's Snooze time or bar time. Good for me, I'll be in the frontrow, centerstage.

I like the song. Daniel does, indeed, rule. I can't make out most of the lyrics and I suppose I could look them up but it would probably just tick me off ....anyway, I'm excited to hear the whole album and I'd love to see them back in Atlanta.

When it comes to my favorite bands I'd rather NOT listen to songs before the album comes out!
I really enjoy listening to the CD for the very first time! :)
I've refused to listen to Mp3 of some albums so I'd have the pleasure to listen to the CD itself! :)
