new rig pics (and our poor mens' studio)

Hey cobrahead, those casters on the Splawn cab look crazy, are those the stock casters? If not, where did you get them?

they came on the roadcase i ordered from angstrom cases (they have an e bay store, but no website that i know of) they're actually upgraded from their normal casters (bigger, and supposed to be more durable)

i love them tho...you can tell they're built to last, they feel solid, and can roll over ANYTHING [well...within reason] that cab in the roadcase weighs 160 lbs. and i have no trouble getting it around as needed

hey cobra, do you record guitar tracks with the splawn 2x12? Do you prefer the 2x12 more than the 4x12?

i've done a lot of recording with the 4x12 (which has an eminence governer/manowar x pattern) and i like it quite well, tho i've always struggled to really get a good recorded tone from it; due in part to the speakers i think, altho they sound great for live use

i've just began to really spend some time recording with the 2x12 and so far i think i like it better (this has a hellatone 60, which is just a vintage 30...and a hellatone 60l which is a vintage 30 with a bit more low end; the same speaker marshall uses in the mode 4 cabs) it's got a really big sounding bottom end, and nice present highs so i'm able to run my high's and low's on the amp lower than what i did with the 4x12

i've not really had enough time fiddling with recording the 2x12 to say definitely which i prefer tho, i love them both

In this pic, Jack Owen (ex cannibal corpse) plays a Madison head

hmmm, there's always a chance he switched rigs altogether (when i saw them he had the madison cabs, but not a head) or that he's got more than one live rig rollin around he swaps thru on the road

we got some pretty good pics that night, but were on the side of the stage away from him...none the less i'll see if i can't dig up something that shows the setup i saw him with
