Behind the mist.
Hangman's Hymns...

some songs available on www.myspace.com/sighjapan

Sounds pretty fucking good... more thrashy black metal this time with apparently loads of the synth melodies that made me love them in the first place. Their last album did not hit my G-spot, but I'm looking forward to this. Soniscape was a gem...

I got a free The End sampler with my last order and I really quite liked the Sigh track, which I assume is off this new album. I'd never actually heard the band before that! I always thought they were "avant garde" BM, which I tend to avoid.

By the way nearly every other song on that The End sampler really, really sucked.

I'm so disappointed and quite disillusioned
after imaginary sonicscape I was expecting gallows gallery to be nothing less of a masterpiece and... no go.
maybe this one will hold the wonderful feeling of such music milestones as infidel art and imaginary sonicscape.

Groundbreaking Japanese act SIGH have announced a few tour dates from their upcoming North American tour with Mespotamian masters MELECHESH.

The band is touring North America in support of their upcoming album Hangman’s Hymn, out June 12th, 2007 on The End Records. This is the first North American tour for MELECHESH, who released their critically-acclaimed album Emisarries in January of this year. Also on the touring bill is Atlanta’s sludge/doom outfit ZOROASTER. More tour dates will be released in the coming weeks, but the currently confirmed shows are as follows:

July 6 - Brooklyn, NY @ Europa
July 13 - Toronto, ON @ Opera House
July 14 - Montreal, QC @ Sapphire Club

The band also has two live dates with Norway’s misanthropic cult black metal act MAYHEM:

July 17 - Santa Ana, CA @ Galaxy Theatre
July 18 - West Hollywood, CA @ Key Club

Says frontman Mirai Kawashima about touring, “We are excited about coming over to play North America again. The timing of the tour is perfect. Hope to see you all on tour!”

Hmm, doesn't specify if Melehack or Sigh are headlining.

Better be Sigh.

I've never heard you give any reasons for your dislike of IS. What songs do you consider bad and why? I have trouble finding one weak track on the whole album.

These posts should help. In short though, 70's prog plus black metal blows. It's an experiment gone wrong. The band were near perfect, then they tried the wrong drugs, signed with Century Media, and went shit. It's just so bad.

Regardless, the band stopped being relevant after HHH.
