NEW SLAYER

Slayer had not released anything latley that I found to be very impressive. Don't get me wrong, I like them. I just was not thrilled with the past 2 records. Or the live thing they did recently. They play the same set (spare 1 or 2 songs) every time I see them.

While it is in slayer's mold to take on a subject like that from the "evil" point of view [angel of death anyone?] I think it's still too soon after the attacks to write a song from the evil point of view.

God Hates Us All (best album of 2001) came out on 9/11. And the title track says, "Terrorist targeting their next mark"
Weird.

Anyway, Slayer is the 2nd greatest band around.

Jeff hanneman is writing a song about the 9/11 terror attacks from the terrorist viewpoint.
Needless to say the new cd due in March should be interesting!
Alice Cooper already did that. It's called the Sentinel.

The Original cover for Dream Theater's "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance" (which was originaly released on 9/11/01 before it was pulled) showed the sky line of New York being ravaged in flames. Beat that. Oh and I liked that record alot more then God Hates us all. But that's cool, to each his own.:Spin:

Im hoping they will make a return to form. I haven't enjoyed one song since "Divine Intervention".

Oh no, hang on, I did like Screaming from the Sky from Diabolus.

Other than that - they seem to have got into a terrible rut. I hate the way Tom has sung since Divine - monotone shouting. He should listen to South of Heaven again...

I liked the first half of GHUA a lot, and Bloodline was good. I didn't like though how they just kept dropping f-bombs like it was going out of style. Cursing for the sake of cursing takes away the magic of those words.

hey atleast they put out new records that sound differant and still hold up to anything else that is new....which i cant say for alot of bands from their time. And it has to sound completly differant from their last couple of albums since dave is back in the band

Dave was in the band for GHUA, and it didn't make it great.
