new song from my band's upcoming CD...

While I'm not a fan of the vocal processing so much, I think the rest sounds fantastic. Nice and clear.

The vocal effects are a little much for me. I think I prefer vocals to be a little bit more dry than those are with the delay and such, but they aren't bad at all aside from that in my opinion; just not that excited with the processing of them. I might place the effects on the vocals a little bit lower in the mix.

Is this Madison amp alone or mixed with 5150?

Great mix from what I am hearing & you guys are making some good music in general from what I hear on your MySpace.

Keep it going!!!!!

Ok. Thanks for the explanation, guys. Now that I am on the same page: you said that you grouped the (8) gtrs together.
By that, did you mean that you brought them into (1) stereo bus??
May seem like a dumb question, but I just want to make sure that I understand your process .... it sounds really good.

Thanks again.

Yes, all 8 tracks were grouped into 1 stereo bus and EQ'd on that bus. I tried to EQ each amp's tracks on their own, but it didn't sound as cohesive as doing them together.

My thinking with group EQ on the guitars is that the less I have to fiddle with, the better. I tried to get tones I liked as well as tones that fit together during the tracking phase. Once I had that hashed out, my EQ issues had to do with the guits in the overall mix, not so much the tone between the 2 amps, so group EQ made the most sense with the least work, haha.

Also, the Divinity during tracking didn't sound too far removed from the 6505+, IMO. I ran less gain on the Divinity, and it seem to have more command of the mids than the 6505+ (which seemed to be high mid voiced), and it was definitely clearer and more articulate. Obviously with less gain it could be that way, but even in a band context, it's seems dryer and clearer than the 6505+. They mate well together.

That is a very good idea.
To be honest: I have never thought of that either.
This will be a good lesson to learn.
Thank you for the heads-up.
