New Symphony X track available for download! KING OF TERRORS!

This sounds really just average to me.
Not bad, mind you... but when I listen to Symphony X, I always get the feeling that I heard it before... When listening to prog/metal I'd rather it be a cutting edge band that really is trying to push the envelope, instead of just rehashing the same old ideas. Sounds like a mix of Dio, Kansas, and DT... If it works for you, great... it's just not my thing.

Yeah, Inferno is absolutely killer... that first riff is just amazing...

And when exactly did Dream Theater release something good... 1993, 1994 something like that?

95 - A Change of Seasons
99 - Scenes from a Memory

Two albums Symphony X will never dream of reaching their heights.

Honestly Symphony X are nothing compared to Dream Theater. They wouldnt even be considered a progressive metal band if they didnt have those totally suck-ass guitar solo\keyboard solo duels.

Seriously, you cannot go and compare Dream Theater with Symphony X.. Go and compare them with fellow power-metallers Kamelot or something.

this song is pretty kickass. not as good as "the inferno" hopefully the rest of the album will be better

they dont sound like dream theater though, and they never did. michael romeo, in my opinion, is just as good as petrucci though. they both have their own unique styles and all that other madness that makes a good guitarist. i have to give the songwriting award to dream theater over symphony x though.

what a plain stupid and biased opinion

symphony x are nothing compared to dream theater eh?
4 excelent albums if that's not comparable i wonder what is then:rolleyes: i wonder what kind of drummer is rullo then, a thrash metal drummer maybe? if you love dream theater so much, fine but that doesn't give you the right to bash symphony x.

Ps. (When petrucci gets to work with orchestrations aside from his guitar playing then i'll compare him with Romeo)

Hey now, no need to rag on DT.

Agreed. Dream Theater and Symphony X are both great bands. I find the constant comparisons between them by their fans to be quite mystifying. There's obviously no such competition between the people in the bands themselves, so why do we always have to go through this retarded argument?
