new to MAC, some prog recommendations?

just got my first mac (power g5 dualcore 2ghz).
are there any free progs you would recommend downloading?
I mean like cleaning-progs an any useful things.

Fist of all, MAC is an acronym for Media Access Control.


Honestly, I've never had to really 'clean' my Mac - I assume you mean like a defrag or something similar?

There are some programs that go through your Applications and ask you which you want to delete, as well as ones that can remove all other languages but the ones you want left.

I use a program called macaroni Atomic Bird | High-Powered Mac OS X Software which takes care of everything apparently not free but its only $8.99

I honestly would dump Garageband, iMovie, the free trial of iWork, the free trial of MS office and iPhoto.
