I have a problem....

I started off with PT M powered 7.4.2. the first version that worked on Leopard. Then I bought an Ilok with an M-powered 8 upgrade license on it. got a copy of Pro Tools M-powered 8 upgrade, and that was great. updated to 8.0.1. so far so good.

Now I'm getting a new mac with Snow leopard. so I need to

a) get 8.0.4 and
b) get it onto my new mac.

8.0.4 is a free update, but you need 8.0.3 ( which in turn was a free update from 8.0.2 / 1 / 0 ).

I need to get a Full version of 8.0.0 onto my new mac, then simply update from there, but can't find it anywhere. all the updates are readily available for download from the Avid site, but I can't find the full 8.0.0. As its iLok protected, I can't see why you can't just download it.

I know I can't just copy the installed software across.

any suggestions would be great thanks

I'm pretty sure there is no download for 8.0, you need to get your hands on a disc. Maybe email or call Avid. Another option would be to clone your old hard drive with Carbon Copy Cloner if you have PT 8 installed on it.

thanks for the reply. I just found a similar question on the Avid forum. apparently update 8.0.3 is the full install.

I'm downloading it at the minute. just short of 1gig..
