Pro Tools M-powered won't load...

I just bought M-Powered Pro Tools 8 today. Installed everything. Restarted my computer, and I have both the iLok and Profire 2626 running.

When I start the Pro Tools program, it starts loading the plug-ins...then when it gets to Battery 3.dpm - it comes up with the error msg "cannot find Native Instruments folder. Locate now" - it opens up the FINDER on my mac. I cannot select anything, and the menu is frozen as well. This has happened 3-4 times already.

Any solutions? I don't think I have ever had Battery 3 on my computer. If my room-mate did in the past...how am i to fix this issue. I REALLY want to run Pro Tools. haha.

What OS? I know that the first version of 8 wasn't compatible with 10.6. Even though you just bought it the disk may have been sitting on the shelf. Once you register your software, in your "mydigi" profile you should get a list of available d/l and updates.

I finally got it working. I had to go into the Pro Tools hidden files, and deleted lots of unused dpm's (battery 3 was in there)

in any event, deleting things randomly is never a good idea.

Your original post made it obvious you don't know much about Pro Tools troubleshooting.

You could have just moved the unused plugins to the unused plugins folder.

The DUC is generally the best place to start troubleshooting PT. Since are new to the software you should check out their stickies to see the best practice techniques for solving issues.
