New Toys of Mass Destruction

It is very possible that one or more of the preamp tubes in the louder channel has more gain than the ones in the quieter channel. I had that in my Marshall poweramp, I solved it by replacing the preamps with gain-matched ones from Watford Valves.

Oh, I got it, I got wrong the "louder" and "quieter" channel, thought you were refering to the Clean and Modern, haha I'm so stupid :) So if this is it (this was my initial guess) I think this is no big deal right ? No risk to harm the amp or whatever ?

Okay thanks guys. I hope the problem is that and nothing else. Is there a way to find out ? For example if I switch my tubes (like 1-3 go to 4-6 and so forth), if the problem remains (on the same side) maybe it's another problem. What do you think ? The thing is, if this baby has some default, I'd rather find out now that I just bought it, you know ?

If you do a channel to channel tube swap and the problem switches sides, you're fine.

Otherwise it's probaby a resistor or capacitor that's drifted in value, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

It happens in every amp over time, but it's more noticeable to you since you're looking for the exact same sound out of each channel. You'd be hard pressed to find two same-model amp heads that sound exactly the same, for example.

I'd say it's probably fine, but if you're really worried about it, contact Mesa or take it to a tech.

I looked at the tubes, one of them has a blue glow (very beautiful, haha), but I've read it was ok and nothing to worry about.

Uh blue glow is just beacuse is a fixed bias amp I think, it's biased very cold as mesa dual rectifier.
Mr Randall Smith as Mr Harvey Peavey (harvey just on 5150 mk1) decided to use that fixed bias that to me it's just a shame, they want you to buy their tubes.
Well the volume difference maybe could be just a poweramp tube that is going to die on the weak channel, if in the next month the amp will start loosing lowend and will have the volume that increases and decreases, dying poweramp tubes will be for sure the problem.
