New track featuring Circus Maximus singer Michael Eriksen?

Real men admit to eating cheese. For the perfect night in, light some candles, make a lovely cheese platter and put on Khymera's The Greatest Wonder cd. Recommended for anyone loose of the bowel - There's enough dairy goodness here block you up for months.

PS-I'm looking forward to this project.
PPS-Hubi Meisel rules.

For some reason I get a total "Europe" vibe from that song, especially in the verse...With that said, I'm an oldschool Europe fan, so I totally dig this!

That is SO my kind of AOR, and the vocalist does sound a lot like Michael from CM. No way that's an Andre Anderssen song though. All his songs sound like Royal Hunt.

Oh it's Michael for sure, there's absolutely no doubt about that. I'd recognize that voice anywhere!

Did you ever listen to THREE - III

???

I'm a David Readman fan, so of course I bought III. It was a struggle to make it all the way through it though. It sounded like every other Andre Anderssen solo album to me. Essentially watered-down Royal Hunt.

This song just doesn't sound at all like Andre's songwriting or keyboard work to me. It sounds more like something Dennis Ward put together.

I know this isn't the topic, but I do love Royal Hunt as well as David Readman, and Paul Laine so when I got the album so many years ago, I thought the same thing. I was just waiting to hear the backgound singers on the chours(you know what i mean) like in everyone of his songs, and I could do anything but shake my head. It's still an ok album, but if it was Andre writing the music you would really know it.

This is exactly what Michael Eriksen needs to be doing, (being involved in as many projects as possible). Anyone that talented needs to showcase their talents as much as they can. It's a great thing.

I'm sure Dennis Ward is involved in this somehow. The Place Vendome comparison is a good one. Great stuff, I'll buy it as long as Eriksen is vocalist on every song.

After listening to it again, I'm willing to bet the guitarist is Uwe Reitenauer.

Let's just say that the vocalist on this "project" sounds incredible as usual. However, folks need to be prepared as this is a pure *early* 80's AoR/rock album. There is enough cheese on it to put the state of Wisconsin out of business.

I love early 80s aor, so this is right up my alley. Really diggin' the mystery track too.

The Mystery Track is a sneak preview of a new band-project called "The Magnificent" put together by Frontiers Records featuring Torsti Spoof (Finland - Leverage) and Michael Eriksen (Norway - Circus Maximus)!

The music is described as "very much in the Melodic Rock mood so the more Prog Metal elements from the songwriting and experience of the 2 artists are set aside for this record." An album is due to be released in November, with a video clip to debut prior to that.

With Scandinavia becoming more and more the promised land for quality Melodic Rock bands, it was just natural that Frontiers would dig deep in the scene to find and expose the best new talents around. Then imagine if two of the most gifted guys from the Prog Metal scene in two different Scandinavian countries decided to join forces in a monumental new band project. The result should be nothing but stunning right? Then get this: Circus Maximus singer extraordinaire Michael Eriksen from Norway and Finnish producer/guitarist Torsti Spoof (of Leverage fame) have decided to join forces together in a new Melodic Rock band aptly called The Magnificent.

With the help of musicians including Rolf Pilve on drums, Sami Norbacka on bass and Jukka Karinen on keyboards, The Magnificent offer a monster Melodic Rock album, a record melting the contemporary sound of Brother Firetribe and classic Europe, with obvious hints to the fathers of the genre: Journey and Foreigner.

Songwriting contributions also come from Pekka Heino (Brother Firetribe, Leverage), Tomppa Nikulainen (Brother Firetribe), Tuomas Heikkinen (Leverage). Mats Haugen (Circus Maximus), Kimmo Blom (Urban Tale) and others.

The resulting debut album oozes class, stunning melodies and fabulous arrangements. Eriksen’s powerful vocals perfectly complement the spectacular musical landscape created by Spoof and his cohorts. The Magnificent is an album that screams for the attention of all Melodic Rock fans. Get it!
