new U2 ... some good tracks but ultimatelly a snoozer ... all the tracks sound the same.

i have not heard anything good from them since Achtung Baby

Yeah they haven't done much for me in some years. I only own The Joshua Tree anyhow.

actually I am taking back most of what I said in the earlier post. the record is really growing on me. It has some hypnotic effect that makes me go back to it.
one particular track "Crumbs from your table" is a real standout.

for those of you interested in it, you can stream the complete disc here:

this record is a real mystery. now after a month I think this is their best work since The Joshua Tree ... all the tracks have tremendous growth quality and no reall fillers on the whole record.
all the song are mostly the mellow type, no real all out rockers ... but it is just hypnotic.

Saw them on SNL just now, a performance from late last year. One of the new songs was pretty good I must say. Bonor had a little dig at the Ashlee Simpson thing, saying "Here on Saturday Night LIVE! LIVE! LIVE!" at the end of the show. Cool.

I think my favorite U2 song is that Hold Me Kiss Me Thrill Me Fuck Me Bathe Me Kill Me song, and it's now stuck in my head (haven't heard it for many years).

The Boy Album is where the money is, folks. An Cat Dubh (The Black Cat in Gaelic) and Stories for Boys are classic tunes. But still:

Everything in my playlist > The U2 in my playlist

it's still amazes me how this record grew on me so much ... there are no fillers on this at all

Reading through this thread, I realise that it's a tad unfair that I'm the one who's being labelled as the gay RCer :p
Listening to U2 is like eating pussy man, fuckin' straight shootin' manly hetero style. :tickled:
