New York Show

Hey, does someone still need a ticket to the NY show? My buddy just backed out and I'm looking to unload one.

I'll be handing out SMN flyers after the show, come say hi if you want.

That show was one of the most intense metal concerts Ive ever been too...Bodom was fucking ON. And I think Ripper shut any naysayers about him replacing barlow mouths last night too...as Im sure he is doing throughout the tour...jeez man, that guy is rediculous.

highlight of Bodom's set: Hate Crew Deathroll \m/

low point: some douche trying to push his way to the front of the stage making me miss half of Silent Night Bodom Night

One thing Im noticing about many in the crowd...judging by the fact that I seemed to be the only one paying attention to Alexi during his solos, I question if many of CoB's fans (I'm thinking here the stupid mall goth's they've recently acquired...which btw were smaller in number than I was expecting) even realize what a fucking sick guitarist he is...or if they even appriciate how good anyone in Bodom is.

Dude, I agree with you on the douchebags pushing during SNBN, and the crowdsurfers were fucking retarded. The right side of the crowd formed an alliance and like 6 guys (in the middle of the fucking song) smashed into the idiot that was pushing, thats when it stopped. I think everyone appreciated Alexi's solos, but sadly, American crowds don't know how to react to talent (most). I can't wait til I do my tour of Sweden/Norway/Finland/Amsterdam next summer, go to a festival with 50,000 people and not have any douchebags. It's like a dream to me.

Anyway... this was their setlist:

Intro (Dr. Demento - They're Coming To Take Me Away)
Hate Me!
Chokehold (Cocked 'N' Loaded)
Sixpounder
Needled 24/7
Angels Don't Kill
Silent Night Bodom Night
Hate Crew Deathroll
Everytime I Die
Downfall

I think I mixed the order of one or two of them, but that was pretty much the list. I want Bodom to do a headlining US tour and finally play something off Something Wild. And regarding sinerchris, haha, I wish I was that "cool", my friend was going to the bathroom during Iced Earth's set, and he runs back to me and hits me on the back, I'm like WHAT THE FUCK!? and he's like JANNE. BAR. NOW. so we went there, he was pissfaced drunk, but still, very kickass, very talented motherfucker. Also went outside and bumped into Roope. But couldn't wait for Alexi (even though everyone saw him walk in before the show) because we had to catch a train. Anyway, twas a fucking incredible night and I hope Bodom get their asses back to the US (or I get my ass to Sweden/Norway/Finland) soon as hell.

^yep, European crowds know how to rock (right) , but don't expect too much from Finish audiences  , I've never experienced much passion at concerts there , I mean something like totally freakin out....

And btw, here in Europe they played only "Lake Bodom" of Something Wild on their headlining tour last year. In 2002 there still was "Deadnight warrior" (and "Somebody put something in my drink" :kickass: ) on the setlist at Dynamo, but that's long ago...

Lake Bodom would be fine, it would be sweet if they did both Red Light In My Eyes as an encore. I just want like a 20 song headlining set already. BTW, I expected much more from Iced Earth, all the new shit was horrible, but when they played "Iced Earth" at the end, that was sweet.

i do indeed agree with u Yngvai. Ripper was awesome. He was hitting notes Barlow never could. One thing I didn't like was how he sang Dracula. Screaming yer head off for every line...a little but too much there Timmy Boy. All in all Bodom was great, and I agree again...I watched close attention to Alexi's playing...and many others weren't..good point.

When Ripper was talkin it reminded me of when he was still in Priest. The mannerisms, the catch phrases, etc. I guess it's his personality...but if he woulda said "what's my name" I wouldn't have been too surprised lol.

HOW SICK WAS THAT !? I died and went to Bodom last night!!! I dont know if it was any different, but from the right side of the stage the bass completeley drowned out most of the rythm guitar and some of the solos, but it was in a blues club so the sound system was probably set to sound that way. Anyway, in most of the solos especially Silent Night, Bodom Night we all leaned over because Alexi was all the way on the other side of the stage. Minimal drawbacks but a truly unforgettable show. COB RULES !!!

Ripper's voice ranges from high to very high, Barlow still owns, but its probably better we dont get into that... for me Bodom definitely topped the other two bands, great setlist and lots of energy. And there were a few guys to the left of the stage that were trying to start a mosh pit to, which was kind of annoying but they all eventually either left or got thrown out. I thought Chokehold and Sixpounder were the highlights of the Bodom set, but the whole thing ruled

Well Bear! I didn't catch ya at the show but I had an awesome time. I got to the show excited but ended up in a place in the pit where I couldn't see anything barely. I enjoyed Evergrey. When CoB came on I got KILLED! Some asswipe was trying to climb over me and kept clawing at my hair and face and pushing me down. I felt like I was gonna fall down and be trampled.. Definitely sucked as I had gone to the show to see CoB.I managed to stick inside the pit till CoB went offstage. Got out of the pit and joined my friends on the side. I bought me some merch and grabbed some fresh air then headed to get me a drink. I got carded! +cackles+ Soon afterwards I spent the rest of the night head and body banging to Iced Earth. Hail to the guy who was headbanging along with me. You rule dude! Woke up last morning with major neck and scalp pain. But it was worth it.

Glad you enjoyed the show, man.
I wish I could've been home for that one.

Man, is it just me or can there never be a thread where some cocksucker doesnt mention that "americans don't know this, or americans dont know that"? Honest question.
