Welcome the newest member of our family... Milo :)

He joined my family today, makeing it me, the wife, 2 cats, and now 2 dogs! Got him from a no-kill shelter opreation called "FurBurbia" and he's now enjoying the love and attention that all 'pets' deserve.. ie: he's family! :)

Congrats, HobbesDawg! That was really cool of you to rescue him; he looks like a very nice dog. My wife and I are also very much attached to our Maltese, Kato, and treat him like just part of our family. Dogs really are man's best friend.

DOGS RULE!!!!!! Plus his name is MILO!!! When the Maidens were in WA, all of our little toy stuffed animal dogs that we picked up for mascots were named MILO, MILO JR., etc. He is ADORABLE!!!!!! No-kill shelters are so long overdue! I support the pet orphans fund! www.petorphansfund.org and Best Friends Animal Sanctuary www.bestfriends.org Congrats HobbesDawg. :)
Our Milo's is why he named his Milo...sweet drummer. Now that's a die hard fan / friend. He's naming his dog the same as ours. Now we have a real live dog named Milo. Next time in SLC, you gotta bring Milo to sound check...that is if we can find a new club up there since the Zephyr is closing.

He's a cute little guy! My brothers dog and cat keep me sufficiently entertained these days...

Also, Jen, since you mentioned it here, I seem to remember Wanda talking to someone at the Zephyr the last time you were out here about his club. He mentioned that he half expected you gals to play at his place the next time you are out this way...
;)

But since the Zephyr has been a successful club even in these harder economic times, I am fairly confident that they will open another location in the near future (crossing the fingers). Maybe you gals should play on one of the (re)opening nights if they are successful with the move...

But back to the matter at hand. No kill shelters are noble efforts, and I'm glad to see that Milo found a new home!!!
:D

Thanks everyone :) I just had to share. Amd thanks for letting me be offtopic. hehe. He's so cute and wonderful and cuddly. He gets along great with the cats, and he and our dog Lucky are good friends now...

And yes, Best Friends rules. We were there in July, became donateing members, and nearly took home a dog. But our other cat was still being weird at the time so we wanted to ease him in :)

And yeah, I'd love to bring him next time you all are here. He'd probably have a blast.. maybe even show off his "Dance" trick..hehe.

As for clubs, there is Liquid Joes, about 1/2 mile from where I live.. but I've heard their stage isn't as big.

Ya know, I remember seeing Trouble there..first time I was at the Zephyr..it'll be a pitty if they close, they've been a good place, good location, and are very band friendly from what I understand.

Hey Toast, it's time for the Speedway to return! MUahaha

I really miss Zay and Paul. They were masters of the shoestring budget, and did an excellent job with what they had to work with. I learned a lot working for them, and still reminisce often about those days. It took a cheap shot (rock politics) to take out the Speedway Cafe, and I have never forgiven the responsible party for what they did. Ask me about this sometime when we are hanging, as it is best kept off the record...

And as much as the idea of starting my own club appeals to me, I remember the financial pains all too well and feel my time is better spent working behind the scenes...
:p

BTW, your suggestion of Liquid Joe's has some merit. I haven't been there yet, but I hear good things!

Hobbesdawg, I am usually very good at identifying breeds, but I am stumped with Milo. What is his mix??? Jack Russell/Fox Terrier/Australian Cattle dog/border collier/Spitz mix of some sort???? I can't place it! He sure is a cutie!!!!

<------rufus says hello and welcomes milo with wishes of a timely mailcarrier and plenty of cookies! my dog is a pitbull mix, but we tell the vets she's a greyhound (heehee) for insurance purposes. in the small town in missouri where i lived, pitbulls where outlawed unless covered by a million dollar policy. what a bad rap, huh.

*grins* you're on the right track! he's a border collie/terrier mix. Tho beyond that we're not to sure.

The great thing about the place we adopted him from is that because they kept such good track of him from his first 2 adoptions (they had their reasons, one couple had to leave the US for a job, the other lost his house and couldn't have dog where he moved to) we're getting puppy pictures because they've kept such good track of him. YIPPY!

Yeah, its too bad that rotties and pitbulls have such a bad rep. Its the owner, not the dog :(

Anyway, Milo wags his tail and gives a happy "Haruff" back :)

Unfortunatly they were not there today. I'll be going back on Tuesday when the group we adopted him from will be in... Can't wait to see his puppy pictures! :)
