Newfound appreciation for an old song

Dischord

Mental Sodomizer
The Moors...I mean I've been working my ass off trying to replicate Chris Broderick's solo in Take to the Sky lately (I refuse to play any cover song if I can't do it justice, but MAN Chris is a beast!) and I recently uploaded my entire CD collection onto an external hard drive (this way it can't be grabbed by any sort of file sharing, sorry folks, I support musicians by actually buying the music I love, and anything rare or out of print I keep available for snagging simply because it can't be bought) and had my entire CD collection on random/repeat while working on this...and BAM, this song kicks on...wow...I'm MUCHO impressed guys...there are a great many JP songs that rock, but man, you really make it hard to choose a favorite!

As to why I'm working on this, well it's simple, I'm putting together a metal act in the Killeen TX area and we're working on some original material, plus we want to give an homage to the acts that inspired us to play like we do, so the following bands are being worked up as part of this homage:

Skyclad
Death
King Diamond
Mercyful Fate
Blind Guardian
Jag Panzer
Sabbat
Tankard
Diamond Head
Testament
Megadeth
Arch Enemy
Carcass
In Flames
Dissection
Cynic

The King Diamond/Mercyful Fate tunes and Death tunes are already down, have been playing many of those for years as it is! So working up the Jag Panzer tunes the hardest because I only recently found them when Mark kindly introduced the music to me! And Mark, if you ever bring yourself to Texas there are some Dean V's that would LOVE to be in your hand for a show! I own quite a few of them, and would let you take your pick of the litter, betting the Korina would feel right at home in your hands...but no keeping it :tickled:
