JUDAS PRIEST - "We hope Rob rejoins the band!"

After years of rumors, innuendos and denials, it's finally official: JUDAS PRIEST has publicly admitted that the Ripper Owens era is, for all intents and purposes, over. "We hope Rob rejoins the band so we can go out this summer, but part of the ball's in his court, so he's going to have to make a decision," drummer Scott Travis exclusively told BW&BK. It remains unclear if a reunited Priest would go it alone, tour with TWISTED SISTER as has been reported elsewhere or team up with IRON MAIDEN. Whatever happens, though, a resurrection is near.

PS: It seems that this might be true since Blabbermouth is reporting this too like Melysan posted.

SPV welcomes ICED EARTH on Steamhammer

Briefly known as "Purgatory" Iced Earth was founded in 1984 by guitar player Jon Schaffer in Florida. Jon Schaffer's vision has remained unadultered since day one because of the obvious: nothing is more important to him than the music he writes and the fans who support Iced Earth. That is one of the reasons that Iced Earth became of the most important and well-known bands.

Combining ‚80's trash influence with the classic metal approach of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest Iced Earth entered with their demo " Enter The Realm" in 1988. It became already a great underground success. Purgatory changed the name into Iced Earth and recorded their eponymous debut "Iced Earth" in 1990.

It exceeded all expectations.

Meanwhile Iced Earth is a band who belongs without any doubt to one of the best in the heavy metal. Jon Schaffer (guitar), Matthew Barlow (vocals), Larry Tarnowski (guitar) and Richard Christy (drums) are recording their new album which will be released this year worldwide on Steamhammer/SPV.

SPV's Managing Director, Manfred Schütz: "Iced Earth is one of the best bands in Heavy Metal and their is still a lot of potential in the creativity. Iced Earth fits our repertoire perfectly and I am very happy that the band decided to continue their success with SPV."
