Do you have to pay for Kontakt 3.5? I have it.. but now I get a message saying "Demo time over" or something..

Kontakt PLAYER 3.5 is a free upgrade to the Kontakt Player 2.5 that's included with SSD and many other sample libraries. Maybe you accidentially downloaded a demo of the full version of Kontakt (no "player" in the name)? I don't know.
 
hey guys... all SSD users go to www.native-instruments.com login with the same service center info you use, go to downloads, and you'll be able to download the official 3.5 player. (this is not to be confused with our upcoming 3.5 software update).

While I do realize that NI can be a pain, the new 3.5 is actually really kick ass and with our new update, the load times are lightening quick, the engine is way more advanced, and its very easy to use and customize. Furthermore, there are NO issues with 3.5 and Pro Tools, and we did a long 48 hour session last week on PT HD 8 with ZERO problems.

I'm working very closely with NI to improve things even further, but for the meantime, if NI Germany or US cannot help your issues, please send us an email and we are glad to help 24/7.

So I stand by my statements Steve. Fuck NI and thier shitty service center horse shit. This software, and only this software has been a piece of shit on the new mac.

This has been such a nightmare that I am 100% positive I will not be buying anything related to NI again.
 
I must say, we haven't had much issue with the 3.5 player update besides this one. Marty just wrote me a note saying he's gonna get our technical director on this. The not so pleasing news is, that there is probably a very simple solution which I think I know, but I'll check with Dan first before I fuck you up even more. Sorry about your problems, but again, by our logs, we've had 1,242 KPlayer2 to KPlayer 3.5 upgrades and about 3 or 4 issues including this one. So this is not common.

Nonetheless, we're on it. And worst case scenario I'll be in Auburn NY visiting some friends in a week and I'll come by and fix it myself assuming you have a steady supply of whisky and hookers.

Nice. We are short on hookers unfortunately. But I'm sure we could get some bussed down from Syracuse.

And Steve, I know that this is more than likely a NI issue so my rant is pretty much only with them. Thanks for keeping on top of this :rock:.
 
This may be a total longshot, but try repairing your disk permissions and then doing everything again. I have had really stupid software issues fixed by repairing permissions.
 
judging from the cymbals that get applauded here, just make sure you eq the lows and low mids from the cymbals like this:

Or check out ANIMAL in the first demo column of my page.. again, just a little eqing goes a long way. For rock and pop I actually think the default setting on the cymbals sounds very rich and natural.. Regardless, the new metal presets in 3.5 have eq'd and compressed cymbals which have more of the shimmery sound you guys dig, I'll post something as soon as our main system is back up and running (its down).

To find your serial number, just log in to Service Center.

You see, you somehow installed Kontakt, not Kontakt PLAYER 3.5. That is probably why you need to activate or enter a serial number in the first place. If you download the update like I described on the last page you shouldn's even be seeing this. Mine was activated from the start, didn' ask for anything. And in Service Center, it says "Kontakt Player" where yours says "Kontakt". See Guitargodt's screenshot of the same screen on the last page. This is what it should look like.

I downloaded the update from the link you posted..

Its working now..I used the same installer to unistall (Kontakt 3) and install (Kontakt Player 3) wtf..

Everything is working fine.. SSD loads normally but its gone from Service Center page

This is a fresh install of OSX. I installed Cubase, then reason, then this.

Still no go. :mad:

But Steve has made good and they seem to be working on the problem so it's all good.
