NI CAN GO EAT A BAG OF DIRTY OLD GUY DICKS.

GuitarGodgt, email use your phone contact and we're gonna get a sexy three way going between you, us, and NI US.

Hey steven can I ask you a question? Why is it that SSD decided to use a Kontakt based sample engine instead of your own design, or even a simpler design? The only reason I ask is because of what this whole thread is about: NI has some of the worst CS I have ever dealt with.

I used to work for a SPONSORED artist, and even with our own CS agent whenever we needed him we couldn't get them to help us with anything at all.

Is it a matter of ease, or do they treat developers way better then they treat their customers?

To make your own Virtual Instrument is not an easy task and takes a long time and lot of testing. If I didn't get a virtual instrument in to the market last year, it would have been EXTREMELY difficult to break the product.. And in all honesty, we've had very little MAJOR issues besides the Pro Tools 8 issue which luckily only lasted two or three months. There have been thousands of users who have had no problem at all from day one.

The new 3.5 player is quite advanced and is pretty damn cool. Having said that, we have not closed the book on making our own virtual instrument, but its a ways off if it happens. Keep in mind even Toontrack started in the Kontakt Player and lasted there for a bit, and that was before the K Player had the wide set of features that it has now.

hmm, i've often thought about what makes coding a sample player really that difficult, surely it's just receive midi event, get the drum from the note, and the speed from the velocity, pick randomly from a set of matching samples then play..

but hey, drumagog costs more than a lot of DAWs, and NI seem to have made a full meal of their players.

i guess until i actually shut the fuck up and write one, i'll never know! haha.

thanks,
