Nightwish in St. Pete, Florida (wow)

This was the second time I've seen Nightwish in concert. The first was at PPIV, which was mind-blowing. After seeing them again Sunday night, I have to say that they haven't lost a step. Sure, they don't have the opera vocals anymore, but Anette was excellent. She sounded great and had a nice rapport with the crowd. It was cool to hear her take on the older tunes and how she made them her own. Fantastic band, fantastic performance and I can't wait for the next studio cd and tour!:kickass:

They played at Jannus Landing, kind of an open-air music venue in downtown St. Pete. I don't know if Carcass played there or not. The turnout was great....it had to have been just about sold out. It was packed in there and the vibe was really cool. The crowd was very responsive to both Nightwish and Sonata. Crowds like last night make me hopeful that tours with bands like these will be on the rise again. Long live rock n' roll!

Yeah, same venue. Probably just as many people. Over 1,000 for sure.

I have also to say that I really thought Anette was 10x much better this time than she was when I saw her at the Culture Room last November. You can totally see how she progressed. However, I am really sorry to say this, I really don't like the way she dresses.....

Ow, one of my favorites of the night was, "While Your Lips Are Still Red" Beautiful!!

Anyway, it was a good show. Sonata was very good, too. Too short of a set, though. But everyone was hating life. It was disgustingly sticky, hot and humid. After they played, the first thing Anette did was scream at the top of her lungs "AIR!!!!"

The bass player of Sonata - who is never really energetic, was even less energetic yesterday. You could tell those Finns were not used to the weather in Florida. :loco::lol:

Yep, Anette's clothing style was/is a little quirky, but what the hey.....she did sound GREAT. Also, it was nasty humid. When I got there, it took only about a minute before I had sweat dripping down my back! I didn't see too many cooling devices on the stage for the bands, so I can just imagine how uncomfortable it was for them!

What was Annette wearing in Florida? I saw them in New Orleans on Saturday, and thought she looked great. Leather pants and a black top. Looked pretty damned good actually.

Im not a fan of the hot topic ish dresses at all she was wearing.

She wore a short, red satin dress with some kinda ruffles....it looked like a cross between a cocktail dress and prom gown? At one point it looked like she was wearing a tiara. It was a little odd.

I just remember the getup Anette wore in Seattle last year...
