NIGHTWISH: North American Tour Postponed

Finland's NIGHTWISH have pushed back the launch of their previously announced North American tour to this fall. The rescheduled trek will most likely kick off in September prior to the band touring South America. "A bandmember has some pressing issues with some outside projects that directly impacted this time period," a representative from the group's booking agency told BLABBERMOUTH.NET.

"The band as a whole were looking forward to this tour and are truly sorry for their fans who already purchased tickets," the representative added. "Sometimes these things happen and it is unfortunate. However, the dates will be moved and put back on sale as soon as possible, and there will be some new cities added to the itinerary."

NIGHTWISH's North American tour with SONATA ARCTICA was scheduled to launch on April 20 in Chicago, Illinois.

I think she was actually fired from the band. There's a letter ontheir website explaining the situation.

Yes the letter of Tuomas is interesting.. I once read an interview of Tarja saying something like I am not a heavy metal girl, I am not a rock singer, and I have never been so. I like listening to Whitney Houston more... etc. etc. In my opinion she was after a solo career maybe.. She will not join a new metal band for sure and I think she'll carry on with singing arias etc..Huh?

Actually I wasn't fond of her.. I don't know. People were saying she is beautiful, but no, I wasn't thinking her beautiful. That's not because I am a female too. Imm.. She was the leading character in the group. She was the singer. So people were focused on her. Now she's gone and I hope Nightwish will replace her with a proper one..

But also the way she was kicked off from the band was not a good one I believe. Giving a letter.. Blah.. I don't know.. There was obviously a great lack of communication then.. But also I remember Sami.. The bass player of Nightwish till the Century Child album. Do you remember him? He was also kicked out of the band by Tuomas without being informed face to face. Just like the letter on the web site for Tarja.. Hehe.. It is interesting But when I read thomas' letter, I said wow.. they weren't a band anymore.. So I believe maybe it is something good to sack Tarja for the sake of band. But there at http://fan-sites.org/tarja/ there is a letter from Tarja which is translated into English on page 3. When I read it, I felt a bit sad about her too..

You cannot say the singing is bad. Tarja is professionally trained and preforms that operatic style of singing EXTREMELY well.

If you don't like it that's fine but you can't say it's bad or it sucks.

You don't have to listen to them. The fact that you don't like some bands is not a reason they should't exist. There is a lot of music I really hate but I just ignore it.
