Nightwish tour dates for the U.S. & Canada!

Tuomas has announced on the band's website that the first show of the upcoming tour is confirmed: May 1st, 2015 in Los Angeles! Once again, Nightwish has chosen to kick off a world tour on U.S. soil, and once again it is happening in L.A.!

VIP tickets go onsale tomorrow via Enter the Vault, and they don't come cheap!

Regular tickets go onsale via Ticketmaster on Friday.

I'm still on the fence about dropping $200 a ticket for their "VIP experience". The experience at Grove show was more of a "cattle drive" that tried to cram in as many fans as possible. It was like the photo ops at the Comic Con. Then there's the experience at the Gibson which most folks assumed was VIP, but really wasn't.
 
I'm wondering if some will magically appear on ETV later on. I'm usually an impulse buyer when it comes to NW, Kamelot, WT and Sonata.

I assume that means the new album will released at some point before that date.
 
According to the interview I did with Tuomas last October, he said that "if all goes according to schedule", we should see a new album by spring of 2015. So far everything appears to be happening on time as he said.

However, even though the tour has been announced as beginning in October, our friend Chrissie from Dark Chest of Wonders Australia received this e-mail that may be of interest to Canadian Nightwish fans...

May 1st: Los Angeles, CA (Greek Theatre)
May 8th: Orlando, FL (House of Blues)
May 12th: Louisville, KY (Expo Five)
May 14th: Silver Spring, MD (The Fillmore)

Tickets for Cleveland, Spokane, Orlando, and Louisville go onsale via Ticketmaster on October 1st. All others can be found on Enter the Vault.

Delain has been listed as opening act for the shows in Quebec, Orlando, and Spokane; Sabaton is also listed as an opening act for Spokane. No word yet if either/both of these bands will join them for the other shows.
