No more Headbanger's Ball

No, not implying anyone specific.
I have no idea when you guys got into metal, nor do I care.
It's just funny how upset people here and other forums are about stuff like MTV and That Metal Show.
As I said, if you are SO KVLT and underground, you shouldn't be concerned about mainstream media outlets anyhow.
So yes, you are butt hurt about it.

I guess its the reason why I was still a DragonForce fan during their Guitar Hero popularity.
I liked the band. Nothing more, nothing less.
What do I care that their song was in a video game?

Just like with MTV or VH1, a video game isn't my gateway to a new band, but it might be for others.

All you can hope for is that someone might see a High on Fire vid or a Sword video, and then might take the time to dig deeper.

You keep throwing around these KVLT and TROO and UNDERGROUND terms.
Do you see my username? The 311? It's not my birthday, it's a not a significant number, it's the name of my favorite band. Yeah, the rap/rock/reggae band that college frat-boys blast from their Jeeps. I sure do care about being so TRVE and UNDERGROUND...

A one-word or one-sentence response to news that an irrelevant show is being canceled does not signal 'butthurt'. Re-evaluate the word, man!

I had the misfortune of seeing 311 once..... LOL.
Yeah, that's about only 1 degree above Limp Bizkit.....

Hey, just my opinion. We all like what we like.

One of my top 10 discs this year is the new Smashing Pumpkins and I could not care less what anyone thinks.

It's funny because you guys wrote more in this entire thread than I did. I was like, "aw, metal show goes away", and suddenly someone thinks I'm using MTV to get my metal fix. This is exactly how rumors get started!

By the way, AngraRULES is a big One Direction fan. I heard it on the internet, so you know it's true.

And I don't even get this whole 'internet' spiel. Do people just stop going to concerts and reading zines and ordering demos just because they have a computer?
I might be a keyboard jockey but I do all that stuff in unhealthy amounts....the web is just another insanely helpful tool.

I think it's people just being lazy. I also think there are a lot of metal fans stuck in their ways, where they don't really want to learn about newer bands. It's sad but unfortunately, it's true.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the net as much as the next person, but its made a lot of nooBs feel they have been raging since 82, which is not the case.

Okay Jason, you throw around this quote A LOT to people on the forums, and I don't seem to get what your complaint is. You wish more people would listen to bands you like, underground, etc., yet when they do, (I'll use me as an example as you do like to point me out), you seem to think that because I love such and such band from '82 that I'm acting like that's when I started listening to it. To me, I don't care when someone starts getting into a band, if they love them and rave about them, more power to them. It doesn't make them automatically a "fake fan" as I feel you're implying.

Anyways, I do agree with you in terms of the HB and TMS. I don't seem to get why the more underground people are as pissed about it, since the show isn't aimed at them. I could take it or leave it. Would I love there to be a legit metal show? Absolutely, but I'm not gonna get butt hurt that the current shows suck or get cancelled.
