no more structure of lies

that's some horseshit.
They just do a split w/ Misery Index, plan a huge tour & POW...this.
Plus they were becoming one of my more favored local bands.
I know Cole isnt into Metal much plus he was moving.
& the bassist as you can easily tell isnt into metal at all, & the drummer is never at any metal shows except the ones they play But I figured him & Cory we're pretty metal...but they cant top Butler though, he runs that band w/ a Metal Hand.

Sad day for the AZ. Metal Scene.

A letter from Ryan:Tours Kill Bands Dead

In a year where I have lost almost everything, here is
one more thing on the pile. So, yeah, this is my spin
on things. I in no way can speak for the others, but
can only say what I've seen and what I was told, and
try and respect them as my friends as much as
possible. But, I want to write a letter to explain as
I'm tired of telling individuals, and our out of
state/country fans deserve an explanation as well. The
tour was going decent. Low turnout, and a few canceled
shows, but fun overall. We got to see many a site. We
knew Cole was on his way out, and it was obvious he
wasn't having a good time, but what could we do. We
were all getting along well overall, or so I thought,
and things were fun.

We had two vans, and it usually ended up being
me and our roadie/my great friend in one van, and
everyone else in the other. According to Cory, many
plans were being made in this other van as well as
gripes about me/the band etc. They just weren't into
the metal anymore. We all have very diverse musical
tastes, but it was always obvious to me that I was the

one with the overwhelming true passion for this silly
thing we call metal. Our roadie, John, works at a
record store and had told me that Bill had sold all of
his metal CD's there recently. He complained often
about how metal sucked and how he hated Phoenix. No
big deal, Bill has always been quirky about his
musical tastes and selling mass amounts of records,
and has always despised the heat here. But I knew he
liked to play fast. Didn't think too much of it.
Chris and Cory had been playing acoustic together
quite often and Bill was helping on drums. Never
thought much of it. Cory announced he was going back
to school, we were all cool with that. Lots of warning
signs, but I wasn't worried as we all do this for fun
and a good time was always had, minus the few regular
band problems.

So, after a night at the bar, Cory expressed to
me that he was quitting after the tour. I said, ok,
and that it was a bummer, but he had to do what he
felt. He then told me he was moving to Seattle, and
Bill and Chris would be going with him. I was a
little astonished, but understanding. He then preceded
to tell me all of the things that were going on
unbeknownst to me. Many of these things hurt
my feelings, and many of them I felt very bad about
knowing that I had hurt others feelings. But, at the
same time Cory really let in to me. He said
many things that hurt my feelings, a lot of things
that were just miscommunication, and a lot
of things that were just mean. This put a damper on

everything for me, but he did apologize in the
morning. I felt ashamed, sad, hurt, and phony.

I knew I couldn't play with these guys and pretend to
pour my heart out for another week straight knowing
all of this. My feelings were really hurt, and
I felt ditched and like people were unwilling to
communicate with me to make things better, and instead
just bottled it up (Deja Vu). So, it was a real
bummer to me.

So, John and I drove from Indianapolis to Phoenix
the next day with them going to Nebraska first.
Canceling, what could've been the best shows of the
tour. I told them all that Cory had told me what was
going on and that my feelings were hurt and I was
made aware that I had hurt others feelings. No one
really had anything to say. We agreed to play the last
show, and hopefully record our LP. We hugged
and went home.

So we canceled:
Sept. 30th Lansing, Michigan with Misery Index
October 3rd Talent, Oregon with Blueprint for Disaster
October 4th Oakland with Impaled/Ghoul
October 5th Gilman St. with All Shall Perish etc.
(the real bummer)
October 6th LA with Lack of Interest, Sepsism, and
(get ready) Nausea (the singer of Terrorizer's old
band reformed). This show is actually going
on as I type. Lame. haha.

So, yeah, October 29th with Phobia will apparently be
the last you see of Structure of Lies. Please support
all the members future projects, and come and
wish Cole the best of luck on his move to Nebraska.
This really is the short version, and like I said, my
version. So, hopefully I haven't stepped on any
toes. Let it be known that I love all these guys (next
year was ten years with Bill), and respect their
decisions, and wish we could've communicated better
so they could've had a better time. I had a blast.

Thanks to all who made this tour possible and our
friends at home.

Sad day for the AZ. Metal Scene.

Actually, I thought the same thing but ryan told me their bassist was really into metal and he actually came up with alot of their stuff.
