[Noob inside] Ambient metal - first recording with new setup

Hey, I just built myself a proper computer yesterday to go with my new focusrite saffire, so I can finally record properly I threw this together fairly quickly and am very happy with it compared with my past stuff which sounded rubbish with more work.

Just guitar and drums so far

I'm using a CRT monitor so I was wondering what the deal is with that, because I read it negetively affects recordings??

Any suggestions on how to improve this mix? (I will add bass soon)

And thank you all for all your advice and information I'm so happy with this interface, and I would be totally lost without this forum.

id say bring the guitars to the front more.

i've tried many ways to bring the guitars to the front (Volume, compression, EQ) but in all attempts the sound mess!!!
How you suggets?????

oh mine were panned 100% L and 100% R (other than the centre guitar) so i just moved them to about 70%, which helped a lot. You could also try boosting around 6kish for presence (i dunno, just guessing)?

EDIT: or upping the presence knob on the amp
