So hey, I know it's kinda nooby question but I just can't figure that one.
Lets say I'm recording a guitar part that repeat itself for 10 times and in the 3rd time I got out of tune or click but the first 2 times are perfect. so I'll start recording on the 3rd time, but when I try to do that It's just sound not connected... how can I make it sounds smooth?

thanks in advanced!

Your daw should have a punch in option. What that does is that it helps you correct your mistakes if you played out of tune of wrong note etc. Just select the region in the guitar track which you want to correct. Select punch in recording (the option may vary according to the daw you're using). In order to make it sound smooth, start the playback a bar or two BEFORE the region you want to correct and play even though you already played that part. That way the transition to the punch in region will be smooth.

Well first of all, thanks! it solved some of my probs :D
second problem I'm having now is that sometimes between 2 connected tracks I'm having a small "tick" sound... how can I solve that?

Try to zoom in very far, so you can see the waveforms. Now try to get the two thin lines which are your waveforms perfectly aglined at the same height. Hard to explain, especially with my poor english...

This is how it should look: ----------------------------------
This is how it shouldn´t look: ---------------_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

You will get your little "tick" at the "step" between the two waveforms.

If you still get pops ´n clicks --> do a tiny crossfade

Cubase SX3

thanks guys for answering :)
didn't really understood
the whole --------- and -----____ lol
but the cross fades pretty much did the work, thanks ^^

He was basically trying to illustrate the idea of where you see two waves that don't quite meet up, thats where you can get your pops and clicks ... thats what the crossfades are for. Glad it worked out for you. In the future try to remember to mention what you're using / pc or mac / stuff like that so the right people can help. I don't use cubase so I couldn't even begin to tell you how to do a crossfade in that ;)
