What are some good clubs for metal in the northeast? NY, NJ, PA, OH, IN, VA,Toronto....?

For a tour in May of '07.

and if you know who books them even better.

Tully is a metal club unto himself but you didn't mention Mass., so.....

there no exclusive "metal clubs" in NY ... but there are quite a handful that have metal once in awhile

speaking of tours and one off's ... spoke with Negru from NB ... they are open for even one-off show, but would rather do a few around the US come later part of 2007 ... spring Euro tour and Summer festivals are already lined up.

I would say, Northsix in Brooklyn (Northsix) is your best bet in the NY area ... big enough, but not too big ... pretty central ... and my good friend is old friends with the owner so i can get you a direct contact.

Many a metal tours have passed through there ...

I agree with NorthSix in Brooklyn. Easy parking too.

I'm not too fond of Manhattan based venues. Even BB Kings is overrated altough it gets all the big acts. At least with NorthSix, you are guaranteed a good view of the stage no matter how packed it gets.

Depends on if you are cult and underground and don't mind playing in venues that are equaly as underground, or if you want to play in a semi-shmancy 'regular' venue. Either way there are many places to play around here.

I saw Maiden in Boston once (at the Orpheum? Orpheus?). It was on their Ed Hunter tour (you know, where they kicked it off with "Aces High"). Holy shit that place was hot. And although it was seated, nobody stuck to their seats and just crammed up front. :tickled:

In Toronto we have some good ones...

Metal Bar, The Opera House (not a metal-only club, but dedicated and has been for a long time) and lots of others I'm gonna forget or haven't been to.

There's a place in Gloucester City, NJ called The Pirate's Den... it's a small bar and is 21+

The Trocadero is The Trocadero in Philadelphia, one of the main stops on alot of metal tours... to rent the main stage, it's $5k.... buuuut to rent the balcony of the troc, it holds like 100 - 150 people, and it's... $500, i think... you can call and ask them about it... uhhhhhh

There's a cool place in Asbury Park, NJ called The Saint... but it's a little iffy....
