NRL 2009 Thread

St George, Bulldogs, Titan and Storm....they are all safe for finals footy.
Who is going to finish in the last four spots of the 8? Penrith sit in 5th but looking shakey, as are knights, broncos and cowboys all could struggle with parra and the tigers finishing with a wet sail...

I love the last month of footy!

Friday Night....Tigers V Parra

This has to be the best game of the year so far. Gunna be a cracker.....

Season is over either way Bucko - there was only one spot up for grabs and the Tigers were one point behind the Knights and Panthers, who are fighting it out this weekend for 8th place. Even if it's a draw the Knights will still get a point and keep 8th. Sigh.

yup twas over when we lost to Parra.

But hey fuk we thrashed the Bulldogs, just a pity we lost about 4 games by 2 or less, we'd be makin everyone nervious and me pissed off probably

Parramatta through and we already have our stories for the week. Will Hayne and Keating be suspended? Will Nathan Cayless recover in time for the game?

Quite happy that the Eels got through - gives more ammo to the people who like to whinge about the top 8.

If Hayne doesn't play then I'm sure they'll lose a lot of the viewers who otherwise have no interest in either team. If I was a conspiracy buff I'd think that David Gallop might have a quiet word in someone's ear on Monday morning.

Bryce gibbs got 3 weeks for pretty much the same thing Hayne did. If there is any consistancy with the system, he wont play.

hayne said in the press conferance that he was trying to get to the ball, but knew he couldnt get there, so he tucked his feet in. I think that gallop will have nothing to say on this and let the process happen. 2 weeks for that IMO.

As for cayless, get heady for the new buzz phrase of the week "hypobaric chamber"

But Bryce Gibbs would have had a lot of carry-over points, etc. Has Jarryd Hayne been suspended/charged before? If not then he should get a discount for it being his first offence.

Yep, the hypobaric chamber will come out this week. If he's no chance then he should do what Steve Price did in 2004 and say on the Monday that he won't be available and put the focus back on the team where it belongs. Then again, not many people are as awesome as Steve Price, but Cayless seems like a top bloke so he might do the right thing.

The last thing I will say on the matter is.....IF Melbourne make the Grand Final and Hayne is cleared, there will be a huge uproar from the storm. Cameron Smith missed the Grand Final last year for a grapple.

Yeah, well the Storm don't have a leg to stand on. Cameron Smith was suspended for something that deserved a suspension. Hayne won't be cleared, he'll be charged and depending on the grading he may or may not get suspended. Cameron Smith was suspended because of the carry-over points from a previous charge which he took an early plea on so he wouldn't miss a game, and it ended up coming back to haunt him.

So sick and tired of people who think players shouldn't have to miss grand finals or Origin matches through suspension. If they don't want to get suspended then they shouldn't do the wrong thing on the field. It's like those retards who speed and then complain about revenue raising when they get a ticket.
