hehe! SWEET! I guess I will see it at least one more time! I saw it at the dollar flicks this weekend and it kicks ass. Its like you forget all the cool ass stuff in it and you are surprised by something each time you see it. They should play ALL the SW films on the IMAX screen. Now That would rule. (just not the special editions)

Unfortunatley, according to Lucas, the Special Editions are the final versions of the films and he has no intentions of ever re-releasing the original versions, not even when the dvds come out (tenatively around 2007). Of course the special editions are really the final editions as he is planning on adding more stuff to the movies on the dvds. One rumour has Jimmy Smits making an appearance before Alderaan blows up in Star Wars. Another has Natalie Portman making an appearance in Jedi. Yet another says Lucas filmed a scene at the Lars homestead while he was filming EpII for the original trilogy, but nobody really knows what. Personally, I would like to have the original versions on dvd with the Special Editions.
As far as the IMAX release goes, I can't wait to see the asteroid sequence (with those really cool sonic disruptors) and the battle scenes at the end. Oh yeah, and a seven story tall Natalie....

I have a great solution for ya Jeffasin, at least if you can get a hold of me!

I personally have the original triology on VHS and I haven't played them in a couple of years and they are still in great shape! I plan on getting my family a new PC sometime next year and ofcourse getting a ATI All In Wonder video card and a DVD burner so I can start to move all my VHS over to DVD. One of the first ones I'll do will be the original triology so guess what, if your nice 2 me I'll see what I can do about sending you some copies on DVD!

What ya think?

I love technology!

Cheerz!

God, I hope those are just bad rumors. George, are you honsetly trying to destroy the leagacy of the one of the greatest movies (and trilogies) of all time?

The actual deleted scenes in Episode IV were cool, because they actually had the actors from way back in '77. But all the extras, like the new monsters in the background, were more of a distraction than anything else. Lucas keeps saying how he didn't have the technology to do what he really wanted when he made Star Wars. That's fine, George, you made an amazing movie anyway...after Episodes I and II, I'm not sure I'd want to see what you really wanted to do with Episode IV anyway. But leave the original version of Star Wars for the older fans. If you want to make a new version, George, more power to you, but don't wreck the old version in the process.
