O/T: Lewis vs. Tyson

HAS INTEGRITY
This is gonna be a fight watched by ALOT of people, perhaps more than Tyson vs. Holyfield or Holyfield vs. Lewis. So, who are you betting on, or should I ask who are you pulling for?? Myself, let me make it clear, I am no fan of either fighter. I have been a "Real Deal" fan since the 1984 Olympics, and I still am. However, for better or for worse, I want Mike Tyson to kick the living crap out of Lewis. I really can't stand this guy. I don't know if it is his pompous arrogant attitude. The way he acts like the most effiminate boxer ever. The fact that he is a bloody limey, who claims to be Jamaican, or Canadian, whichever, it depends on his mood. Tyson, the guy is a freak show, like Rodman (well he is much worse than Rodman) but it is hard to HATE him, he is like the elephant man with muscles. But since he is american, I hope he beats the tar out of Lewis. We'll see.

I guess I also would have to reluctantly root for Tyson. The lesser of two evils.

Lewis is without a doubt the most unpopular (notice I didn't say "hated") heavyweight champ ever. Nobody really likes him. His PPV's were abysmal, which I guess worked out good if you did actually like him, he is one champ you can count on seeing on regualr HBO and not having to shell out PPV dough for. The boxing world will be sooooooo much better off without him, interest in the sport has went down the tube during the Lewis era.

It's the other way around, actually...born in Jamaica and raised in Canada, now he claims to be a limey. Tyson, meanwhile, is an idiot. I hope they knock each other out (or bite each others ears off, or whatever). :lol:

Listen to what the fucking limey had to say about us:
from boxing.com

I knew it would happen. It was just a matter of time. Lewis called the first European shot by lashing out in an interview reported by the U.K. Sun. Lewis charges, "In a certain way, I am taking on America by fighting Tyson, this fighter they look on as some kind of icon." Ewww. Them damn yankees. They've got Hollywood, Manhattan, Microsoft, Spider Man and now they think they got the world heavyweight title on lock, too? The nerve.

Think about it.  Lewis never complained so much about his status as international heavyweight master. Oh sure, when you're at the top you're always thirdly guessed, but this American loser, Tyson, 16 years removed from his own faded heavyweight supremacy, rusty and the undeserved number one contender, still sells out the Pyramid arena by breaking ticket records, while the casinos unfaithfully place Lewis a mere 2-1 betting favorite? By fight time, the odds probably will become even or could slightly tilt toward Tyson.

Forget his career, this becomes the fight that will decide whether Lewis is a heavyweight leader. And the American media partially sees Tyson knocking out Lewis. Hell, even American counterpart Evander Holyfield who crushed Mike Tyson the first time and who himself lost to Lennox Lewis twice, stated recently, "When Lewis fought me he just wanted to avoid getting hurt. But Tyson won't let him get away with it.  Tyson just loves getting inside and hitting the bigger guys."

But then Evander drops the American bomb, "Mike will knock Lewis out. I believe that 100 percent."

That has to annoy the hell out of the Lewis, who has morphed into the British version of Rodney Dangerfield: "No respect".

On paper it looks like a mismatch so bad that Lewis should win with his eyes closed. But according to Tyson along with the Americans, Lewis is a British buffoon spinning his own version of the Canterbury Tales.

Here's the bed time story of the "London 'Brit' is falling down":

Principles:

* Lennox Lewis- Current 3-time heavyweight Champion.
* Mike Tyson- Former 2-time heavyweight Champion.

Title fights in past 5 years:

* Lewis-11
* Tyson-1

Total Title fight victories in past 5 years:

* Lewis-10
* Tyson- 0

Total rounds in past 5 years:

* Lewis: 72
* Tyson: 22

Number of bouts that reached 12th round in past 5 years:

* Lewis: 4
* Tyson: 0

Disqualification losses & No-contest in past 5 years:

* Lewis: 0
* Tyson: 3

Upon reading this story, I agree, Tyson Is no longer the big bad wolf. I, like other Americans, must evaluate the morale of the story. Unfortunately, I was never good in reading between the lines.

And so, Tyson by knockout, Round 5.

How do you think I feel Ringfinger? That asshole lives in Phoenix, so every time he fucks up (often) I have to hear on the news, "Valley resident Mike Tyson...blah blah blah." The man is a giant living joke. I'll sleep better at night when he's put out of his misery.

lewis is a joke and tyson is a moron.now with that out of the way.i hope tyson kills lewis and then as tyson is holding his title a bunch of big, ugly prison mates come in and rape his insane ass.
now thats entertainment.

I quite like Lewis, but he is a very overrated boxer. He is basically the world champ as there isn't anyone else in the division who is up too much. Tyson should just stop (I don't believe he should be allowed to fight). He is a disgrace to boxing and while he brings a great deal of publicity to the sport I don't think it is the publicity that it wants or needs.

As for the fight I hope Lewis wins. Boxing gets enough bad press without having a freak show as the world champion.

Feak show, freak show, freak show, I know he is a loser, and that he beats up women, which in my book should be punishable by death, but he is American, although I wish he wasn't, but you can't change that, and well....Europeans are sooo high and mighty in their attitudes towards the rest of the world and America especially, that I hope he beats the living crap out of that douche bag Lewis!

Tyson doesn't stand a chance against Lewis. Lewis will jab him to death. Tyson hasn't been a decent fighter in years and he doesn't even deserve this title shot. It just shows you how weak the heavyweight division is these days.

WOW!, I never knew Lewis was so hated, I thought everyone wanted Tyson out of boxing. I hope Lenox beats Tyson like a stepchild. Lewis might not be a flashy fighter, or fun to watch but he is a smart fighter, he knows how to beat each fighter he faces. Tyson is a burden to boxing and I hope he goes away. He is a big freak. If you want to see some great boxing watch Micky Ward and Arturo Gatti this weekend, two guys with all the heart in the world neither one has been in a bad fight.

The best fight coming soon is Barrera vs. Morales. Their first fight was literally the best fight I have ever seen in my 29 years of existence. Granted, I'm not a HUGE boxing fan, but I have heard veteran broadcasters say the same thing about this fight.

If tyson has brought publicity to boxing he has only made it seem to be a thug's sport. Boxing doesn't have to be a thug's sport, it can be just and have good values, but Tyson pisses all over those values and doesn't do anything for boxing except give it a bad name while he goes around in his limo looking for prostitutes to beat the crap out of. This info about him was found in The Star newspaper.
