Let's have it out. Two kickass songs to kick off two kickass albums.

Although typically(as those who perceive my actions might notice) I tend to go with the older songs in most polls; but in this instance I choose Inferno for that staggering riff, the keyboards in the beginning, and Russell's raw vocal emotion.

Which do you prefer and why?

ooh i just LOVE the guitar riffs in inferno, throughout the whole song it doesnt falter, its sort of like Romeo just going for it, unleashing his fire  (is that cheesy enough for ya?)

This is real tough for me, they are actually my 2 favorite SX songs. OSaS has my favorite solo duel ever, and as Luis said the last chorus with the louder bass is awesome. But I think Inferno is just overall better, awesome riff throughout, best chorus I've ever heard, the only thing that I'm not 100% satisfied with is the solos. For some reason it just doesn't grab me like a lot of the other solos do.

not tough for me, though they're both good songs...

Inferno!!!!

Love the brutal vocals and that intro riff is unbeatable... the chorus is huge as well.

Prismatic: Nice NP :)

Of Sins and Shadows because of that part in the solo right after the tapping string skipping where Romeo bends the high note, and kinda adds some whammy, one of my favorite Symphony X momemnts right there (The whole solo actually, but especially that)

Honestly, don't you people have anything better to do than to contemplate which two songs to shove into a "battle" with each other? I mean, one or two of this kind is enough for a month, imho. Evolve, please.

I think his second solo in that song is one of his best ever.

Of Sins and Shodows all the way. This song has everything SymphonyX stands for. The guitar/keyboard duel alone makes the case. In my opinion, the best example of the form in any SyX song. Incredible!

Of course, Infero is an awesome song too, but just not to the level of OSAS.
