OffTopic Again: Sporty Cars?

So I'm close to finally paying off my Ford Escort, and now that I have my nice fuel-friendly car, I'm looking to replace my totalled Mustang. So what do you all think of other sports-type cars? I don't have a huge budget, so a Benz is even above a wet dream to me. So far I've looked into a Chrysler Sebring Convertible, Mustang GT, and a Pontiac Sunfire. What's everyone else's opinion?

Remember that song on Sesame Street that went - "One of these things doesn't fit like the others..."?

Ummm...Mustang GT by a long way.

I'm buying one of these soon:

In my opinion american cars are crap... euro all the way.

I really dislike the newer Mustangs, yes, they are fast. But they don't drive nice, they are way too common, and they are far from reliable. After we sold my moms 96 GT we bought her a 90 Nissan 300ZX, that thing is heaven to drive compared to her Mustang, not to mention the significant price difference and the reliability issues. And if you want really sporty you can always get a twin turbo, which puts you at about 300 horsepower. You also lose the 2+2 option for the turbo. Having driven both I would get a 300ZX over a Mustang any day. Driving that Mustang was a constant job, you couldn't relax at all. The 300ZX is far from that, you dont even have to pay attention if you don't want to. I could rave about the car for hours but I'll spare you, it's only downside is the automatic heat system which is a little confusing and hard to work. If I wasn't a truck guy and I didn't have my dirt bike to haul I would be driving one.
