If I were the parents: First, do DNA testing on the "ballon", find out who it was, then beat them into a coma. Second, find the manager of the hotel, and beat them into a coma for not having the housekeeping staff clean up better. Third, find the housekeeper that cleaned that room... and you know, beat them into a coma.
I might also consider beating the grandmother into a coma for not being as vigilant, but... not sure.
