Today I came across this new software on Steam called Ohm Studio: http://store.steampowered.com/app/241660/
It looks like a DAW for dummies, but the interesting thing is that the projects can work like a public Google Drive document. The projects are stored on the cloud and you can open it to anyone on the community (or who you invite) lay some tracks at will. You can even work all at the same time on the project, with a nice chat window.
I haven't spend much time on the program but it's obvious that it is super limited in terms of editing, but just for the sake of it I sequenced a drum loop, improvised some sloppy guitar riffs, bounced the tracks so anyone without my plugins can hear it (it accepts VSTs) and closed the program. A few hours later I opened the project and a total stranger improvised a wicked guitar solo over my tracks. It was so much fun to hear it.
This board have a lot of very talented metal heads and I would love to check some collaboration tracks. The software is free but have some paid features (such as 24 bit recording).
ps: I think this makes more sense on the "Bar" than on the "Backline" subforum, but feel free to move it if you will.
