My bass player just brought a DigiMax into my studio and said here you can have it .... SWEET!

Now here is my issue, currently I am running a Saffire Pro 40 and a Behringer ADA8000 I can get those 2 to talk to each other. I want to add the Digimax to this configuration. I have tried the following things with no luck:

Adat out from Digi, to IN of ADA, Out From ADA to in of Saffire: I can only see Saffire and ADA

Adat Out from Digi to In Of Saffire, Out from Saffire into ADA: I can see Saffire and ADA

Only was I can see the Digi is if I go from the Digi to the Saffire....

Anyone have an idea how the possibly get this to work OR if its even possible?

Welcome to the hell of clocking several digital devices :D
One unit has to be the masterclock. Up to two units that's pretty easy, it can be either the interface or the ADAT preamp. With three or more unit it's getting complicated.
On my interface I can set the Fireface to be the masterclock, and up to 2 ADAT units the be slaved to the Fireface. You have to setup the units, as they don't detect autmatically whether they should be master or slave. I don't know if there is a switch for that on the ADA and the DigiMax, some (if not most) ADAT and S/PDIF units can be either master or slave.

--edit, correction: there are two ways I know of that can work --
1) Buy an external Wordclock generator and connect all devices via BNC cables to the Wordclock.
2) Slave the other two units to the interface, by setting it as master and the two others as slave. Then go from the Wordclock Out on your interface to the Wordclock Ins on the other units. You'll need those T connectors at each unit, with a 75 ohm resistor, unless the recieving unit all has a small button that says "75ohm" next to the Wordclock input. You'll most probably have to make these cables yourself because one that only connects 2 units.

--edit2:
Damnit. Sorry I thought that a) the Saffire Pro 40 has a wordclock output and b) I also thought it has two ADAT outputs.
Since it doesn't you can obviously only use one ADAT device with up to eight channels (at 44,1kHz). So no, there's no way you can use both.
Only additional unit you will be able to use is a S/PDIF unit with 2 channels, but even then the clocking will get a little ugly.

I don't think the ADA's preamps will be better than the ones on the DigiMax, though. Why do you want to use them both?

Ops. I was actually going to ask "why would you want to ADA8000 if you got the DigiMax?" I can see why the ADA would be useful for triggers / scratch tracks etc.
I don't know what the fuck's wrong with me today.. I'm unconcentrated as fuck.

Maybe because you're supposed to be studying for exams? ;) :D
