Betrayer is excited to announce that they are currently recording their new full length album titled AGES OF DEFIANCE. 9 tracks are fully written and the album is expected to be recorded, mixed and mastered by the end of October, 2009. No release date has been announced at this time.

The album is currently being recorded at SPECTRE SOUND STUDIOS by engineer Glenn Fricker, who has worked previously with such acts as RANDY BLYTHE of LAMB OF GOD, WOODS OF YPRES, BLOODSHOTEYE and BLACK KREEK.

Shawn Bastien went into the studio on July 20th, 2009 to start laying down the drum tracks. Everything is sounding great so far and Shawn was able to wrap up the drums completely on July 25th, 2009. Jeff Klingbeil is set to record the Rhythm Guitars on August 1st, 2009.

The album will be Mixed and Mastered by renowned musical producer FREDRIK NORDSTRÖM from DREAM EVIL, whose credits include ARCH ENEMY, OPETH, DIMMU BORGIR, DREAM EVIL, HAMMERFALL, THE HAUNTED and IN FLAMES.

"Dream come true" comes to mind. I'm ecstatic!

Betrayer is a retro 80's band that I've been working with for the last 10 years. Think a blend of Iron Maiden/Megadeth with Freddy Mercury singing. Very cool stuff, IMO. Loads of vocal harmonies & absolutely no auto tune whatsoever.

gratz man :D
your raws and nordstroms mix will be apocalyptically good :D

when did you work with randy as well? anything we could hear? :D

Wasn't my idea to put that in the press release, but you can check out a Mr. "Silky Johnson" doing vocal backups on Bloodshoteye's "Without any Remorse." He & Bloodshot have been friends for ages, way back before his band became huge.

One word of warning, I did that record back in '03 when my skillz sorta sukked.

As for the Betrayer record, there was a short list of mixers we were considering, with the band picking Mr. Nordstrom as their #1 choice. We had some real cool names on that list & the interest was, quite frankly, surprising considering how fast some of the replies came back. Long live retro metal!
