Biggest 3 disappoitments of 2003 ?

DOD ( i really expected a lot from this one ) / St ANGER and SYL ( what a fuckin pile of crap ! )

Iron Maiden, Soilwork, Arch Enemy and several more released disappointing cds this year.

You a hard person to please stefan.

What is wrong with Anthems of rebellion then. You cant really expect them to top wages of sin. Antems lacked some melodies and leadwork but the riffs just maimded and killed.

Hmm, only bought 4 2003 albums so far, and one of those was a live. So can't really comment. Got OSI and Train of Thought this week so not listened to them enough to judge properly. If I don't find anything better than DoD, though, this will have been a crap year for music. LIve on Earth was very nice, and I hope to get Recreation Day as soon as I've got a bit of cash.

I didnt buy many 2003 albums, but I listened to a few and my faves are:

Iron Maiden- Dance of Death
Opeth- Damnation
King Crimson- The Power to Believe
Lamb of God- As the Palaces Burn

1) Katatonia - Viva Emptiness (bar none, the best release of the new millenium)

2) Anathema - A Natural Disaster
3) King Diamond - Puppet Master (a pleasant surprise....the King is back!)
4) Opeth - Damnation
5) the Gathering - Souvenirs
6) Led Zep - How the West Was Won (not many live albums ever make my top 10, but this is near god)
7) Circle II Circle (awesome debut from ex-'Tage vocalist, Zak Stevens)
8) Maiden - DOD (good, but not great. The awful production ruins it, as well)
9) King Crimson - Power to Believe (good to see some bands actually doing something original these days!)
10) In the Woods... - Live at Caledonian Hall (another live record!)

Biggest disappointment: Antimatter. The debut was godly. The sophomore record was shite.
