Ok this is serious, is Sunn O)))'s Black One worth listening?

Black One fucking rules. if you don't like Sunn O))) but think you might someday, this is the one to get. that doesn't mean they've gone pop, but with a handful of shorter songs with some more stuff happening, it's an easier pill to swallow than their other albums.

And don't get me wrong, I love ambiant stuff, especially dark ambiant...but if it's 3 notes looped for 15minutes, it's totally worthless.

By the way... we saw Sunn/Nachtmystium on Tuesday. Let's just say...

The place was about the size of my room at home. After Nachtmystium blew up a Marshall half-stack and couldn't do any vocals, Sunn came on and the place filled up with faux-smoke so you couldn't really see three feet in front of you. Two guys come through the audience in druidic robes, and basically there's the background drone for five minutes. All of a sudden, one of the guys leaves, and comes back with another guy. The new guy goes on stage, pulls his hood down and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM fucking loud as fuck opening riff. The guy screams in synch with the first "note" and at this point, it is very obviously Malefic.

Lol yea, they had 4 guys on Stage in Robes, Greg Anderson, Steven O'Malley, Malefic (Xasthur), some guy on Moog (cant remember his name) and this other guy, shaved from head to toe, and covered in a semi-white dust. For two hours he did this painstakingly slow interpretive dance to the music. I dont think I would have the patience to do that.
