OK, whos been saying the new album sucks??

"Safe Home" reminds me of Motley Crue's "Angela" from Decade of Decadence ... it's a love song that's not slow, and not fast, but caught inbetween in some kind of harried musical limbo. Sounds too rushed at points, and then just hangs come chorus time. It's like ... shit or get off the pot. The acoustic version at least gives it an identity of some sorts, and that's a slow love song. I like Bush's vox better on the acoustic as well.

as far as I'm concerned, there isn't a bad song on the album, they all stand out for one reason or another, it seems every week I have a different favorite song on there, two weeks ago it was Cadalic Rock Box, last week was "What Doesn't Die" this week it's "Anyplace But Here" the intro on that is incredible and the bass has a great tone to it on that song

Black Lodge was the weakest song on SOWN, and if we count bonus tracks, the Safe Home acoustic is the worst song on WCFYA.

Your baby looks great, but only to keep the argument going, I'll have to disagree-who else thinks Black Lodge is the weakest of SOWN? It's the strongest one for me! There are some weaker songs though. Take Packaged Rebellion for instance, peace.
BTW I love the accoustic version of Safe Home but I guess it's kinda raw. I miss some production shit, like backing vocals and stuff.

if metallicock released the new anthrax note for note it would be a top 10 seller and people wouldnt believe that they went back to heavy music!! they havent released a metal album for over 10 years!!, safe home would be played every 30 minutes on the radio, i like how they booked nu-metal bands to sell tix for large venue shows. limp bizkit and deftones etc.. they are playing turner field in atlanta and i wondered how they could play that venue, then i saw the other fake ass bands on the bill, many perpetrators will be happy...

someone sounds upset...

I'm a little bitter myself because I'd love to see Metallica play their old stuff live but:
A. I don't want to see the other shit bands
B. I don't want to pay a ton of money for a stinkin' concert.
C. I don't know how much old stuff they will play.

It's slightly upsetting me because I know a bunch of people who are not metal at all and don't know their old stuff at all who are planning on going.

There's my position. I won't live my life pissed off over something as trivial as a band though, so I'll just ignore it.

i see what your saying, honestly i was never a big fan of metallica i only owned 2 cd's of theirs. i am more pissed that anthrax never reached the level they did, then they sellout and write radio-friendly pop songs almost and bands like anthrax, slayer, pantera, and crowbar have stayed brutal. i am not saying they should record their first 3 albums over and over, but there are ways to write new (different) material and there are ways not to. can you see slayer playing with a symphony? hell no and its not that metallica are the only ones with the balls to do it, its that they soldout long enough ago to do it.

I agree, Anthrax has only improved, without selling out.
They've proved metal can be great without tons of air play.
However, I think they deserve more respect than the average radio band.
I'm kind of bummed at the current state of radio and the perception of success.
Remember in the 80's when Iron Maiden, Anthrax, and a ton of other bands could sell out stadiums without radio support?
Ahh....the good old days.

I have an SUV and a Sports car. So, I left my copy of WCFYA in the SUV after the weather started getting nice and I went a week without the album. Try it. You'll realize what a gem you have after missing it for a week. Sounds gay, but just try it.

I'm going to summer sanitarium just because Metallica rocks live. So what if shit bands are there?? It's Metallica !!! They don't come around too often. I'm getting there late and It'll be fun booing Limp off the stage. Tickets are top dollar and I'm sure Limp fans aren't that devoted. They won't be there. I'm willing to bet that Limp drops out

You're fucking right Alex, if I was in DC I'd go with you and we'd boo that shit off the fucking stage together.
