I was bored today so I decided to recorded myself "drumming" through a pair of original Russian unmodded Okatava 012's and a pair of unmodded 603s mics. I just kind of threw up the mic stands without too much regard for placement (spaced pair). I made sure both pairs were in the same spot though. They both went through an FMR RNP into my Firestudio.

The drums are a cheap beginner Mapex set with super old heads. I didn't even bother tuning it. The cymbals are ZBT. I know, it's no DW Collector's kit, but you can still hear the performance of the mics. I think Harvey Gerst was right when he said both mics sounded similar. With the price hike of the Oktavas, I think the 603s are a great alternative.
