Okay whats the deal

live they made this nice jam session (well, perhaps not really, since it seems very co-ordinated every time) out of it ... perhaps it's supposed to have an open ending, so they could be more creative with it during live performances.
it is to bad though that it is this way on the album, kind of ruins the song a little bit, but the lamentations version is nice, and every time they play it live you get a slightly different version.

the end of closure is pretty much the same as the ending to the sopranos series, dont really know what relevance that has but they both annoyed the hell outta me at first but meh : /

Also Katatonia's "Omerta" ends like Opeth's closure. In Omerta the storyteller gets poisoned and dies so the song ends suddenly. I really like that idea..

Amazing catch, I was actually listening to this song the other day and wondered why it cut off. Never thought of that....

It is supposed to end like that. They did a similar thing to the end of Serenity Painted Death aswell

Haha, good to know I'm not the only one with that problem for BOTH those songs...

But yeah, Closure has one of the most amazing climaxes I've heard and then just ends suddenly... kind of disappointing =(

I think it fits perfectly, if you listen to Hope leaves right after it...

Exactly. If you actually own the cd, which I assume the threadstarter does not (correct me if i'm wrong), the soft, you will hear that the quiet part of the next song really fits actually.
