There's a Firepod on CL for $200 and I was just wondering if it is a good interface for that price, or if it is outdated. I hear the FP10 nowadays is pretty similar, but I don't know the quality of that one's pres etc.

FP10 is identical to the Firepod.

Not a great interface but for the price it's got a lot of ins. It's definitely a good "first 8 input interface" type of thing, though.

Yeah, well I might be recording some drums this summer, but honestly, my main priority is that I can record one input at a time well. Vocals, guitar, and bass.
Is there a noticeable reduction in preamp quality from the Saffire 6? I would be using that, but my friend's one has choppy-ass playback on my computer. My Alesis io2 express (USB 2.0) works just fine, but not the quality I'm looking for (as far as Preamps go)

EDIT: doesn't really matter now, it just sold... and not to me :/
