Old Scool Pod Settings

I have an old school first generation Pod. I'd like to get my home demos to sound a bit better. I'm not a guitarist so I'm not that great at tweeking a guitar tone. Anyone have any guidelines or even settings they can suggest for me?

Rectifier model sounds the best IMO on the Pod 1.0.

i'd suggest throwing it in the bin and getting the XT with model packs

umm can't afford the throw away part. . I know I may be asking too much but I figure since I'm a guitarist, there's gotta be a few things I'm not doing to make the best of this unit.

Try throwing a Tube Screamer pedal in front if you've got one lying around.
