Hi everyone...
The whole band is lined up on computers here at an internet cafe in Paris. We had the day off yesterday and we were able to go up to the Tour Effiel and see a little bit of the city. We are getting ready for our show tonight, but alas we will have to cut some songs as their is a strict curfew for us tonight. It seems that on the weekends in Europe, every venue doubles as a disco after 10:30 or so. We all have to be out of the venue by 10:00pm!!!! Bummer.... Same thing happened in Hamburg.
Anyway, want to respond to a few questions and comments that have been posted regard the US thing... Ed and Ted will probably have a couple replies as well.
Well, I think that everyone should know that we want to play the US very much, but it isn't really as easy as it sounds. If we could snap our fingers and make it happen, we would. There are many variables that come into play. We all have families, day-jobs, etc... and it has to be financially viable for a record company to shell out the bucks to have us tour. With the Beard and CGT here in Europe we have been playing to some good crowds, but remember that if we play the US the 'company' must pay for...additional gear (ie. keyboards, drums, backline, etc.) a bus driver, another bus, plane tickets, possibly hotel rooms, food, etc..
The cost to put a band on the road is probably more than you might think...
Don't take it personally... we are doing everything we can to play to as many fans as possible, in Europe and the States.
If we sold as many albums as U2 or Limp Bisquick, this wouldn't be a discussion, but we don't...too bad...
off to walk the streets of Paris (beware of pickpockets)!!! Hope to see you on the road soon...;-)
