I was actually disapointed by this. Guess I had my hopes up way to high for this, esp since I've been waiting for them to put somethin out like this for the past 5yrs. Some good tracks, like to rid the disease, death whispered a lullaby, and in my time of need. Good disc, but wont be in heavy rotation. I hope they make an album like this again though.

Really Omni Bob? I have been listening to it a LOT the past couple of days. I have to admit that I kind of expected it to be a bunch of songs like Benighted and Harvest..but I really like it. Windowpane is killer. So is Death whispered a Lullaby. I guess I was kinda relieved that Steven Wilson didn't influence the album like I thought he would. I should have known that anything Mikael wrote would be original..there was just so much talk of Damnation being a continuation of In Absentia (Porcupine Tree). I like it...but I woulda liked it better if it had been like their other mellow stuff from previous albums. No disapointment here though....it gets a thumbs up from me:headbang:

Mindinsane - I agree exactly. I was hoping for more like patterns in the ivy 2, still day beneath the sun, and like the first few minutes to "to bid you farwell" and like the master's apprentice, from the 5:20 mark to the 7:30 mark. Good, but didnt live up to my expectations.

Getta see Opeth on May 4 :headbang:
