Sometimes I put in Ghost Reveries or Damnation, turn on the keyboard, and either try to follow along with Per or improvise. However, I'm not that great and I probably miss many subtleties.

Looking for sheet music online, I found nothing except this:

http://zak.neapel083.server4free.de/Artists/lenin01/Opeth/

It is Damnation played by solo piano. It has some obvious mistakes. But it is close enough.

Does anyone know where I can get sheet music?

Edit - Sanzen found the homepage http://www.lenin01.de/index.php?site=piano

You could probably transcribe the guitar tablature note for note. It'd be a painful process, but honestly I'd really like to hear some piano versions of Opeth.

Yes, tabs are painful. Playing by ear would be faster than that. But I can use them if I get stuck. I learned the first 1:20 of silhouette by ear. I'm just looking for an easier way.

love the whole idea of it. can't listen to those tracks for a long time tho. Thanks for the link!

If im not mistaken, the guy's actually 16! which is pretty cool.

You could download powertab and that has the musical score if you can read music.

I can read music, and thats all I care to do.
I downloaded the powertabs and I have Weakness in there now. How do I view it in classical notation?

The only song I don't like is Windowpane and final to rid the disease. (The drums are too harsh.)

But I do like how he managed to double the length of Hope Leaves and Ending Credits and just kind of take a theme and go off into his own thing. This is quality music.

What do y'all think of Opeth realeasing an instumental album? I wouldn't want them to put too much work into it (as in take two years and not release a true Opeth album.) But it would be nice to have (for when you don't want to scare people.)

Edit - nevermind, that is what Pelican is for.
